My Top Picks From The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale
I have made the conscious decision recently, to start investing in myself and my happiness. That can be by taking care of my skin and overall health, eating nutritious and delicious foods, or purchasing clothes that make me feel good and ignoring the size on the tag! No one will see the size or know how much you paid for that floral dress, those form fitting jeans, or those killer loafer slides you bought, so who cares?! If you are rocking the hell out of your wardrobe, the only thing people will see when you're walking down the street is your UNDENIABLE confidence. However, achieving a closet full of fabulous clothing that makes you feel like a straight-up lady boss doesn't have to cost you an arm and a leg. Today, I'm sharing with you all my fave picks from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale (some of which I have already invested in.. bye-bye pay check..).
TOPS
I've been super into florals, wrap tops and matching sets for summer. A matching set has a similar vibe to a romper (another fave for summer): cool, effortless, and chic af. The less effort that I have to put into planning my outfit for the day, the better. IMO, the silhouette that looks best on me is flowy on the top and fitted on the bottom, but I am a sucker for a good culotte. The same thing goes for dresses, rompers, and my matching sets. I've also been playing with whites, pastel colours, and larger floral prints. BTW, don't forget to check out my some of my fave trends this year here!
BOTTOMS
Working at Indochino (Men's suits) means that I need to look put together and professional. I just received my first suit from the brand, but up until now, I've been gravitating towards fitted dress pants (pockets are a must) and culottes (as mentioned above). I love the ones with a wrap belt waist, it adds an extra fun little detail to the pants. My preference is for mid-calf to ankle length, but anything longer works too.
ONE PIECES
As previously mentioned, I love the effortless look of a fun and flirty romper/dress. It's only one piece of clothing, so they are easy to throw on when I'm in a rush to my 8am shift at Indochino, but they are dynamic enough to still look put together! Similar to the pants, I prefer mid-calf to ankle length recently as I find it more flattering to my body type. Plus middy dresses are always cute, and remind me of Audrey Hepburn (my idol) circa 1950 in Roman Holiday.
SHOES
The first pair of shoes above are the most recent addition to my shoe collection. As if I bought a pair of shoes that weren't black.. perish the thought! They're super comfy and extremely affordable. I have been coveting black slides that didn't rip apart my toes for a good year an a half, so it was about time. Some other looks I'm loving right now are beige ankle booties with jeans, and bright red pops of colour from down below.
EXTRAS
Accessories are crucial, especially during the beach bound days of summer. It's no secret that my skin is my everything, so naturally I'm donning baseball caps and giant face-covering sunnies on the days that I'm actually outside for longer than my 10 minute commute to work. One of my favourite parts of summer is the fact that it's acceptable to carry around humongous over-the-shoulder totes because everyone will think you're headed to the cottage (when in reality you're just on your way to another day on the job..)! Maybe I'll get to an ACTUAL cottage one of these days.
