What I'm Wearing to My #FirstChristmas Dinner
Up until this point, my #firstChristmas has been a very typical experience. We bought and decorated a tree, we found gifts for our loved ones, and we even baked gingerbread cookies. However, when I thought about Christmas dinner and how that night would play out, I wanted it to be different.
Adrian and I are going to stay with his family in Waterloo for Christmas, so I need to plan and pack my outfits in advance. Now, when I say I want Christmas dinner to be different, what I mean is different from what you typically see people wearing for Christmas. There's sequins, there's sparkles, and I'm sure there is an ugly Christmas sweater or two thrown in there somewhere. But for my first Christmas, I wanted something low-key and comfortable (because I know I'll eat my weight in turkey), but still put together and chic. No glittery red dresses, no shiny silver tops, just my trusty black turtleneck, some classic beige pixie pants, and a few strategically placed accessories.
And while there are no lit af Christmas parties to be had for my very first Christmas, I am 100% content with drinking some nice wine and passing out with Adrian's parents, his sister, and their fur baby Elliot. Whatever your Christmas entails, be sure to have fun, enjoy yourself, and appreciate those around you. If I've learned one thing so far, it's that that's exactly what this time of year is all about.
