Getting to Know Me: 20 Fun Facts About Zoe

Allow me to reintroduce myself. I say REintroduce because there’s already an ‘About Me’ page on the blog. I decided that I don’t do this enough; introduce myself. We do it all the time in our everyday lives: at events, parties, new jobs, etc., so why not do it online?

If I’m being honest, I can’t take credit for the idea. “(#) Fun Facts About Me” have been published all over the internet, but some people do this constantly, and I’d like to start doing this more on my social media channels. That way, new readers or followers can get a better understanding of who I am, and it helps to build strong relationships between myself and my audience! Let’s open up the conversation a la @officiallyquigley, and maybe you can even share something about yourself with me in the comments. Let me get to know you, as well.

  1. I have 4 years of retail work experience, making me a champion when it comes to customer service (and staff discounts.. haha).

  2. I’m secretly a home-body. Even this extrovert needs some time to recharge.

  3. I just can’t seem to convince my body that it likes raw tomato. Something about the texture, just can’t do it, guys.

  4. I’ve got two middle names. My mum went through a lot of health issues when she was pregnant with me, and they weren’t sure I’d make it. When I was born, they decided to give me two names to signify my fight and then triumph to make it into this great big world of ours!

  5. My dream is to be an editor or art director at a magazine. I’ve wanted to be in publishing for as long as I can remember, and have been reading magazines since I was very young.

  6. Blogging has taught me a lot, but the one lesson that I will take with me into the rest of my life is to be 100% genuine to yourself. Authenticity is so rare these days, be a butterfly, not a sheep.

  7. I’m a huge klutz. Seriously, I can count the bruises I have on my body at any given time on two hands. One of the most used words in my vocabulary is ‘ow’.

  8. I love musical theatre. There’s a constant rotation of Mamma Mia and Rent on my Spotify account every day of the week. I’ve seen a ton of productions on both Toronto stages, as well as Broadway.

  9. In my last year of high school, my good friend and I put together a video to play at our graduating class prom. Let’s just say, it was to the tune of ‘My Humps’ by The Black Eyed Peas, and it was the ultimate cringe sesh.

  10. My extended family is HUGE. There’s typically about 45-50 of us at each holiday family gathering. My maternal grandmother has 3 sisters, and each of them had children, who then had their own children.. on and on until there were 4 other generations (my eldest cousin is pregnant right now!) of family members!

  11. The next thing on my bucket list is to travel across Asia. I’d love to see Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, and Japan (among others!).

  12. I might have an addiction to peach green tea with tapioca pearls, might….. I can stop anytime I want to, ok?

  13. My chiropractor and I have the best relationship. I used to be scared of adjustments, but we’re great friends now, so he’s good at distracting me.

  14. Honesty is the best policy. When in doubt, telling the truth has never steered me in the wrong direction, and it’s something that I like to live by.

  15. I never used to eat standard fast food, i.e. Mcdonald’s, A&W, Burger King, etc., but university changed me. As we speak, I am craving an In-n-Out burger animal style, but we unfortunately don’t have the chain here in Canada.

  16. The Try Guys are some of my favourite Youtube content to consume, and Adrian and I like to have our coffee while watching their videos on weekend mornings. Love a good laugh.

  17. I am so grateful to have visited over 8 different countries on 4 different continents. Asia, Europe, North and South America. My favourite thus far has been The U.S. because it’s so diverse and that’s where Hawaii is, but otherwise Italy is my favourite country I’ve been to until now.

  18. I haven’t worn a full face of make-up in over 3 years. The most you’ll see me wear on the regular is mascara and lip-balm. For special occasions I’ll throw on some eyeliner or lipstick, but that’s about it!

  19. My best friend is currently across the world, living in Scotland with her boyfriend. I miss her every day, but I know she’s having the best time. Now, I just have to plan my getaway to the land of Scots!

  20. I’ve got a weird thing with order. It’s borderline obsessive-compulsive. For example, sometimes when I eat pasta, I have to eat it one noodle at a time. No idea where this habit came from..

Did you learn something about me that you didn’t know before? Now it’s your turn to share with me! Let me know some of your quirks, weird obsessions, favourite songs, etc. in the comments. I can’t wait to get to know you all better!
