A Very Canadian Creative Gift Guide

A Very Canadian Creative Gift Guide

Listen guys, gift guides are an awesome way to shop for your friends, family, S/O, boss etc. for the holidays. Finding new, and innovative gifts for the people you celebrate with every year is quite the feat. However, I have found over the years that most gift guides are full of fluff. I refuse to get my brother another pair of socks this year! Instead, I thought we’d go a different route. Think: gender neutral gifts for every single person in your life - no matter if they’re a foodie, a tech-whiz, a fit fiend, or none-of-the-above. I’ve organized everything into price point, so pick your budget and shop away, my friends.

**Side note: some of these gifts can vary in price. Always look for stuff on sale, like me!**

UNDER $50

A T-Shirt that ‘Saves Our Shores’ - This tee from Point Break Apparel is a great gift for under $50, especially if your recipient is environmentally savvy! Proceeds from every purchase go towards local ocean conservation efforts.

Reusable straws for Mother Earth - Super affordable, and another one that saves the planet, reusable straws like these ones from Simply Straws help save our little turtle and fishy friends!

A Massive Water Bottle - Giant water bottles like this one from HydroFlask help friends and family remember to hydrate-yoself! Don’t forget to drink 68oz of water per day (or at least try to..).

Your Home’s New Best Friend - Google Home Mini is the perfect gift for those who need a little extra help around the house. Get Google to help you cook, play your fave playlist, and tell you all about your upcoming day! This guy goes on sale for around $50 multiple times a year, so keep your eyes peeled for that.

Something to Keep You Accountable - A journal like this one from Chapters/Indigo will help you to keep all their thoughts in one place. Who doesn’t like some good mental organization?

$100 - $150

The Perfect Pillow for Perfect Sleep - The pillows at Endy are customizable, making them perfect for anyone in your life. Add in or take out as much squishy foam as you want to make this the pillow of your dreams (get it? cause it’s a pillow..).

A Stylish AF Backpack - A fancy af backpack like this one at Nordstrom is a great way to upgrade an old JanSport backpack from high school/college. Toss in a laptop, a wallet, some snacks, and be ready to take on the day!

The Soda Stream of Their Dreams - Soda is full of sugar and chemicals, but with a water maker from SodaStream, a heathy alternative is just a puff of carbonation away. Recreate your fave classic colas, or try something new and fresh.

A Gift Card to Get Where They Need to Go - Gift cards are now available from Uber! Applicable for both transportation and food delivery, send them a gift card online or snag one at any of the participating stores, like Longos, Mac’s Milk, or EB Games.

The Snazziest Umbrella You’ve Ever Seen - Rain, rain, go away with this eye-catching umbrella from Rain or Shine. Be sure to look good in any weather, and don’t let anything or anyone rain on their parade!

$200 - $250+

Delicious Dinner for the Rest of the Year - It wouldn’t be a gift guide without a subscrition to truLOCAL. Build a custom box, or gift them one of four pre-made holiday boxes so that they can enjoy a tasty meal, all winter long. My fave is the Holiday Steak Box, perfect for the red meat lover.

Headphones to Play Those Holiday Jams - Everyone loves SOME genre of music, so whether they’re a country coveter, a latin lover, or a pop protege, get them these Bluetooth headphones from BestBuy. The holidays just aren’t the same without a good Michael Buble ballad.

The Wallet Made Just for Them - Monogramming just about anything shows that you put a solid amount of effort into personalizing their gift, which is why this monogrammable wallet/wristlet from Coach is a great gift that anyone can appreciate!

The ONLY Way to Holiday Clean - Let’s be honest with ourselves, we all need help cleaning up. Give them the gift of transportable tidiness with this handheld Dyson vacuum at Canadian Tire. Cleaning in those hard to reach places has never been easier!

Smart Lights for a Smart Home - Regular incandescent light bulbs are going the way of the dinosaurs with the help of these Philips smart light bulbs at BestBuy. Control them from any phone, or with the Google Home Mini (listed above) and illuminate their home in style.

Did you find this guide useful? Are you going to gift any of these amazing items to the people in your life this year? Help me promote this no-fluff, no-stuff (that you don’t need/want) gift guide all over the internet! And happy December, friends!
