3 MUST-TRY Cocktails for Summer 2019
It is HOT in Toronto right now. Not just any old hot, the sticky and humid kind of hot that makes you crave an ice cold drink and the AC on full blast. So, safe to say we’ve been enjoying said ice cold drink or two (or five) over the last few weeks, and I thought I’d share some of my favourite discoveries with you. One of them is a twist on a classic, and the other two are fun and innovative ways to use some of the wines and liquors you may already have at home! And in regular Canadian Creative fashion, they’re all under 10 ingredients. Check em’ out:

1oz Orange Syrup
2 dashes of Angostura Bitters
Ice
GARNISH: Slice of Orange or Grapefruit
SERVE IN: Low-ball Glass
STEPS - Combine Bitters and Orange Syrup in the bottom of the glass. Pour in Rum, and Lime Juice. Add ice and stir. Garnish.
ONE IN A MELON

1oz Watermelon Syrup
1oz Lime Juice
5 fresh mint leaves
3oz Soda Water
Ice
GARNISH: Slice of Watermelon, Sprig of mint

FOR HOMEMADE WATERMELON SYRUP - Bring 2 cups of water and 2 cups of simple syrup to a boil, add 1 whole watermelon diced. Remove from heat and let cool. Once cooled, add the mixture to blender. Blend until smooth. Strain and enjoy.

1oz Soda Water
Half Glass of Ice
